- Ventilation & Energy Efficiency: HVAC upgrades or alterations must meet NECB guidelines and energy modeling requirements if systems are changed.
- Lighting & Electrical Load: Adequate lighting levels and power supply planning are required, especially for stores using high-wattage display fixtures or refrigeration.
- Change of Use Permits: Any space being repurposed (e.g., from office to retail) requires a formal change of use permit to ensure zoning alignment.
